Sugar Gliders are gumivores, meaning they are genetically designed to digest gums and saps. Acacia gum is a probiotic, soluble fiber which is essential for healthy bowel movements. In the wild, almost 40% of a Sugar Glider's diet consists of acacia gum and other saps, especially during winter months when insects are less available. Acacia gum is high in complex carbohydrates, an important part to a glider's diet. It is also a great supplement for them because they can digest about 90% of the gum, getting the most of it's nutritional value. In the wild, insects makeup another great portion (50%) of a Sugar Glider's diet, which is why Exotic Nutrition has added mealworms to Gumivore-fare. Mealworms provide the proteins necessary for a complete glider diet.
Exotic Nutrition's Gumivore-fare is an easy to feed, acacia gum base supplemental food source for Sugar Gliders & Marmosets. This product delivers pure acacia gum (in jell form) combined with whole fresh large mealworms, and fresh fruit pulp. Gumivore-fare simplifies and mimics the gumivore's natural food sources. Gliders & Marmosets can't resist this food which is native to their homeland, and natural diet. Mixed Fruit Gumivore-fare offers all the great value of the original Gumivore-fare with more delicious fruit!
Gumivore-fare is formulated to be fed as a supplementary food source to Sugar gliders, Marmosets, Tamarins, and other gum feeding mammals. It should not be offered as the sole food source, feed along with a balanced diet plan. Offer in an open dish, or it can be placed into hollow openings in branches, to allow animals to forage. Gumivore-fare has no preservatives, is all natural, easy to feed jell, that is ready to use. Can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or can be frozen for longer storage (6 months).
